Founded in 1904, Wentworth Institute of Technology is an independent, co-educational, nationally-ranked university offering career-focused education through 19 bachelors degree programs in areas including computer science, computing networking, cybersecurity, engineering, architecture, design, and construction management. Recent new programs include Cybersecurity and Applied Sciences, both launched in 2019.

The Department of Computer Science and Networking invites applications for one open rank Professorship in the area of Cybersecurity. Qualifications required of all applicants include a minimum of an M.S. in Computer Science or a related discipline, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Department consists of 15 full-time faculty members and offers programs leading to three B.S. degrees in Computer Science, Computer Networking, and Cybersecurity. The Department also offers a full-time M.S. program in Applied Computer Science. The Department has teaching and research strengths in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, networking, operating systems, high performance computing, software engineering, and mobile/web application development. In addition, members of the Department have close collaborative relationships with faculty in applied mathematics, sciences, and electrical and computer engineering, among others.

Wentworths mission is to prepare our students for career success through experiential learning. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate computing courses, to engage in research and scholarly activity, and to perform service to the institute (including academic advising and serving on committees) and the profession. Faculty are strongly encouraged to participate in service learning opportunities with the Center for Community and Learning Partnerships and in innovation and entrepreneurship activities with Accelerate.

REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree. 1-3 years experience teaching at university level.

PREFERRED: Doctoral degree.
