Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking to fill one full-time faculty position in Physics within the Sciences Program in the School of Sciences and Humanities to start in September 2021. The search committee will begin reviewing applications on April 25, 2021, but applications received after that date will continue to be considered until the position is filled. The Sciences program at Wentworth represents an interdisciplinary collaboration between faculty in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. We launched our new major, the Bachelor of Science in Applied Sciences (BSAS) in 2019. This major highlights the connections between our fields and aims to provide students with a well-rounded foundation in physical and life sciences. This position may be classified as either an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, depending on the applicant?s qualifications and experience. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm for and commitment to education as well as the ability to instruct physics courses at the undergraduate level. These include introductory algebra and calculus-based courses, rotating electives, and selected upper-level courses. While our primary mission is teaching, the candidate is also expected to engage in scholarly work and service to the institute. As such we seek a candidate who can demonstrate the ability to incorporate undergraduates into their scholarly activities, particularly with the limited equipment and funds typical of small institutions.
