The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Office of Admissions in its effort to attract and build relationships with potential students through a variety of related responsibilities. Several of the key responsibilities include oversight of an assigned recruitment territory and constituent group, engagement in team-based recruitment initiatives, one-on-one contact with prospective students and parents during on and off campus recruitment activities, using phone, email, and direct mail correspondence to communicate with key stakeholders, representing the institution at professional and educational events, presenting information sessions, evaluating applications, counseling prospective students and parents on the admissions and aid process, and processing admissions documents. In addition to the admissions recruitment responsibilities, this position serves as the primary contact for the Alumni Relations and Institutional Advancement division and oversees the alumni volunteer program within Undergraduate Admissions. The position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and collaborates with other recruitment and enrollment teams and departments across the institution.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor?s degree and 2-5 years of experience in a higher education setting or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

A valid driver?s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Track record of being a self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative, exercise good judgment and work autonomously.

Must have excellent public speaking, written, and verbal skills to support relationship building with prospective students and other constituents.

Skill and sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion as they affect the college admissions process, a demonstrated commitment to building a strong and diverse applicant pool, and an awareness of how systemic economic and racial inequity in students? secondary school backgrounds impacts their application to college.

Available to work weekends and evenings as needed to participate in recruitment activities.

Computer skills ? proficiency with Microsoft applications required; experience with Slate Technolutions is preferred.
