Emmanuel College is seeking candidates for either a Senior Instructional Strategies Specialist or an Instructional Strategies Specialist to work closely with faculty in support of technology-enhanced teaching and learning in face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities. The position will support the use of educational technologies, recommend and assist with integrating new learning activities in existing courses, and promote pedagogical best practices, emerging academic technologies, and use of Canvas, Emmanuel's learning management system.

This full-time position sits within the Academic & Technology & Innovation Group (ATIG) and reports to the Director of ATIG. For this position, there is some flexibility for remote work, summer flex scheduling, and occasionally evening hours could be required as the position would be available for special events such as evening classes, faculty development training sessions, and student orientations.

Summary of Duties

Work with faculty to accomplish pedagogical goals and improve student learning (35%)
*Be available to faculty for drop-in support, just-in-time training, and scheduled 1:1 consultation
*Participate in surveying pedagogical research literature and keeping faculty informed of new research on teaching and learning
*Work to foster a community-of-practice among Emmanuel faculty and staff through the internal promotion of technology initiatives and projects

Assist faculty with incorporating instructional technologies and strategies in their teaching, as appropriate (30%)
*Research and recommend instructional technologies and pedagogical strategies
*Promote instructional technologies to faculty through various activities, including workshops, faculty forums, informal brown bag lunches, and vendor demos.

Provide admin support for educational technology software, including Canvas LMS, VoiceThread, Microsoft Office 365 suite, Qualtrics, and others (25%)
*Participate in the production of documentation and best practices guides and in faculty training and development programming
*Partner with faculty to develop, revise, and maintain online and hybrid courses
*Participate in identifying and evaluating new and emerging technologies

Supervise a group of student workers and/or interns, including scheduling, delegation of tasks, and mentoring (10%)

Qualified candidates for the Sr. Instructional Strategies Specialist position will have 3-5 years of experience in higher education and experience with facilitating professional development trainings or workshops.

Qualified candidates for the Instructional Strategies Specialist will have experience working with adult learners and facilitating group training experience.

An ideal candidate will understand learning theory and instructional design principles. Qualified candidates will have experience working with a variety of academic technology software, including learning management systems, productivity suites, basic video and audio editing suites, and other multimedia production tools.

Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with faculty, an ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and individuals, and an ability to write clear, concise, and accurate documentation and best practice documents with attention to detail. An ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the College's mission and the value of Catholic higher education.
